Sarah Horgan, Executive Director of AdCare Rhode Island, joined AdCare Rhode Island in 2014 as a clinical intern. After earning a dual degree from Rhode Island College in Psychology and chemical dependency, she was hired as a clinician in 2015.

During the succeeding years of her tenure, she has held various positions ranging from Utilization Reviewer (UR) to Director of Admissions. Her background in substance use and mental health counseling, accreditation, licensing, and policy review crosses departmental lines and supports a variety of staff disciplines on the ARI team.

Prior to serving as Executive Director, Sarah served as AdCare Rhode Island’s Chief Operating Officer, where she was responsible for all operational issues, ensuring a continued focus on safety and clinical results. She also maintained oversight of the admissions process, UR and case management.
