Rachel Hazard, RN, has worked as an Admissions Nurse at AdCare Rhode Island since 2020. Hazard began her time at AdCare as a Registered Nurse in February 2020, just prior to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a very difficult time for those seeking recovery, as resources for treatment became more difficult to access. Hazard, along with the rest of the dedicated staff here at AdCare Rhode Island, remained committed to providing this life-changing care for our clients. She chose to work in the field of addiction nursing because she is passionate about providing non-judgmental and supportive care for those seeking recovery. This is important to her because she has loved ones who have struggled with addiction, and she has unfortunately lost a few of them to the disease.
Making the choice to enter treatment, whether it be the first time or fifth time, can feel scary to most people. Hazard’s goal as an Admissions Nurse is to make the intake process as comfortable and reassuring as possible. She is an active member of the International Nurses Society on Addictions (IntNSA) so she can remain up to date on the most recent evidence-based practices in addiction nursing. She looks forward to continuing her career at AdCare Rhode Island alongside a wonderful team who provides compassionate care for our clients.
