Specialized Rehab Programs at AdCare

AdCare Treatment Centers are proud to offer a range of specialized programming designed to meet the needs of our diverse patient population. The availability of the below programs can vary depending on the facility location and patient population.

Veterans and First Responders Program

At AdCare Rhode Island, we provide the best addiction treatment and co-occurring disorder care to support the lifelong recovery of Veterans and first responders. Our addiction treatment program for Veterans includes evidence-based therapies and medications to treat substance use disorder effectively.

Our treatment team is dedicated to the successful recovery of each service member who comes to us for care. As an authorized community care provider, Veterans eligible to receive community care through the VA may be able to come to an AdCare facility for treatment and have their care paid for by the VA.

Enhanced Methadone MAT Program

Along with standard protocols for alcohol and opioid detox involving naltrexone (Vivitrol) or buprenorphine for opioids, AdCare Rhode Island has established a unique set of enhanced medication for addiction treatment (MAT) protocols for patients suffering from opioid use disorder (OUD).

The following 3 separate, protocols for opioid use disorder are part of the Enhanced Methadone MAT Program:

Option 1: Methadone Induction

Option 2: Transition from Methadone to Suboxone or Vivitrol

Option 3: Rapid Methadone Detox

Intensive Rehab / Integrated Dual Diagnosis Program

AdCare Rhode Island offers intensive rehab services for patients with both addiction and signs of underlying psychiatric complications. Upon admission, staff psychiatrists and doctors will perform an evaluation to determine which medications and therapies are needed to stabilize symptoms.

This specialized service provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients battling substance use who may otherwise receive care in a psychiatric unit. AdCare Rhode Island can admit patients directly from an emergency room or psychiatric hospital into our intensive rehab program.

The average length of stay for intensive rehab services is 3–7 days of patient care. From there, patients will usually continue their treatment in residential rehab.
