John Copeland joined AdCare Hospital in 2017, bringing solid experience in mental health and substance use treatment and administration. As Outpatient Director of multiple sites in the AdCare system, John forged partnerships in the community and expanded treatment to provide not only Intensive Outpatient Programs and Early Recovery Groups, but also Specialty Services such as Parenting in Recovery and a complimentary Family Informational Program.

In 2024, John was promoted to Clinical Director and began overseeing the daily clinical services at AdCare Hospital inpatient. He has worked to bolster the group programming by including several new evidence-based groups such as Trauma Recovery, gender-specific groups, and education on the effects of alcohol use. John and his team care deeply about the work they do and are delighted to see patients at AdCare transform their lives and achieve their goals.

John graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, NY with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and earned a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College. He has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) since 2007.
