AdCare Rhode Island in North Kingstown is approximately 100 miles from New Haven, roughly a 1.5-hour drive via I-95 North. Our Massachusetts facility, AdCare Hospital in Worcester, is approximately 110 miles away. Both locations offer a full spectrum of addiction treatment programs, staffed by experienced clinicians who have been treating substance use disorders in New England for over 50 years.

We offer a complete continuum of care for New Haven residents, including:

• Medical detox. Our physicians and nursing staff support safe, comfortable withdrawal management.
• Inpatient treatment. Residential care with 24/7 support, structured therapy, and a sober community.
• Partial Hospitalization Program. Intensive daytime programming with more flexibility than full residential treatment.
• Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Structured treatment multiple times per week for those who can live independently while in treatment.
• Outpatient care. A flexible option for ongoing support and step-down treatment.

New Haven County has been among Connecticut’s most heavily impacted areas during the opioid and overdose crisis:

• As of 2023, 87 percent of overdose deaths in the greater New Haven region involved opioids, and 79 percent involved fentanyl.
• There are approximately 10 nonfatal overdoses for every fatal overdose in the region.
• Overdose death rates have been higher among people of color than white residents in recent years.
• Of the roughly 16,000 Connecticut residents admitted to treatment for opiates or heroin in 2020, 88 percent had been in treatment at least once before. This underscores the need for comprehensive, personalized care.
