Jeffrey W. Hillis, J.D., M.B.A., President and General Counsel
Jeffrey W. Hillis, J.D., M.B.A., President and General Counsel, a third-generation Hillis family member embracing a commitment to quality patient care, is responsible for the oversight of hospital operations, including managed care, finance, legal issues, and employment. Mr. Hillis, who joined AdCare in 2002 as Vice President of Administration, has coordinated Joint Commission, CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), Massachusetts Department of Public Health, DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and other survey processes for AdCare Hospital. He has also been involved with the Massachusetts Health Reform laws, as well as monitoring the implementation of the CMS Demonstration Project in Massachusetts for residents that are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid.
Mr. Hillis is chair of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) Addiction Treatment Committee and a member of the NAPHS Board of Trustees. He also serves as chair of the Massachusetts Association of Behavioral Health Systems (MABHS) and as a member of the Massachusetts Hospital Association Substance Abuse Task Force. Mr. Hillis graduated magna cum laude from Stonehill College in Easton, MA and holds juris doctor and master’s of business administration degrees from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Prior finance experience includes a position as Senior Tax Consultant with a strong focus on health care for the professional services firm of Deloitte & Touche.
