Kara J. Levinson, RN, BSN, Promoted to Director of Nursing at AdCare Hospital
Kara J. Levinson, RN, BSN, has been promoted to Director of Nursing at AdCare Hospital. Ms. Levinson has been with AdCare for twelve years – working her way up from an admissions nurse to Rehab Nurse Manager, and in 2013, Nursing Supervisor for AdCare Hospital.
She is known for managing patient care and staffing situations as they arise in a positive, professional, and effective manner. “Major goals,” says Ms. Levinson, “include instituting a preceptorship or structured mentoring program for new nurses, as well as additional training for all nursing staff to enhance the consistency of patient care delivery.”
Ms. Levinson, who is a breast cancer survivor, says that her positive attitude and persistence, as well as the tremendous support that she received along the way helped her overcome late-stage cancer. In July of 2016, she was able to give back by participating in the Boston Avon 29 walk for breast cancer. Her team included colleagues from AdCare and much AdCare support!
Ms. Levinson has a LPN degree from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, a RN degree from Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, and a BSN degree from South University. She resides in Palmer, MA, and has a daughter who is studying pre-med at UMass Dartmouth.
