For some patients, continued inpatient treatment is needed to address ongoing medical or psychiatric illnesses and/or issues that may place them at immediate risk for relapse. AdCare provides two types of Inpatient Services beyond Detoxification Treatment:
Rehabilitation Services are provided for patients who have co-occurring medical or psychiatric conditions that require active treatment by a physician. Such patients are seen and treated daily by a physician and nursing staff so that they become more stable physically and emotionally. All patients are assigned to a primary counselor and a case manager who assist them in meeting their treatment goals.
Acute Residential Services are provided for those patients whose medical and psychiatric conditions are more stable. Patients may be admitted directly to Residential Services or as a transfer from Rehabilitation Services. Patients in Residential Services are provided daily nursing care; are medically monitored; and are assigned a primary counselor and a case manager.
What to Expect:
- the development of an individualized treatment plan;
- involvement of family/significant others during treatment sessions;
- development of a continuing care plan: contact with EAPs, referral sources/other treating professionals.
Daily Activities:
- educational sessions;
- counseling -- individual and group;
- recovery and relapse prevention skills training;
- AA/NA meetings;
- application of self-help skills training;
- family educational and counseling sessions.
The Case Management Department plays an integral role in treatment, following each patient’s progress from admission through discharge and assisting with aftercare planning. Our Case Managers work closely with managed care companies to insure that the patient receives the services necessary for a solid recovery.
