Call 1-800-ALCOHOL for toll-free admissions and referrals 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
Admission to AdCare Hospital is voluntary. Individuals seeking admission are given a brief bio-behavioral history and clinical assessment, based on American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement criteria.
Our Admissions Department has trained nurses on staff to medically and psychiatrically assess patients for admission. 24-hour transportation assistance and coordination is provided.
Upon admission, the patient receives a nursing assessment, breath alcohol test, urine toxicology test, medical history review and physical screening. A bio-behavioral assessment is also conducted by a clinician who initiates contact with family and significant others, employers/EAPs and other treating professionals. An initial treatment plan is developed and implemented accordingly by an AdCare Hospital treatment team. The goal of treatment is to stabilize acute symptoms and to prepare the patient to transition to a less intensive level of care.
