Dan O’Connor to Present on Medication Assisted Treatment at WNEU Social Work Conference

AdCare Community Services Representative, Dan O’Connor, LADC, CEAP, will present on “Medication Assisted Treatment and its Role in Addressing the Opioid Epidemic” on May 24 at the Western New England University Social Work Conference. The 35th Annual Conference has grown to encompass more than 40 workshops designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of social workers and human services professionals of all experience levels.

Dan’s presentation will focus on the benefits and drawbacks of the use of Methadone, Suboxone, and Vivitrol in treating opioid dependence. Participants will also gain an understanding of the Abstinence, Maintenance, and “Harm Reduction” models and their effect on treating those substance use disorders, particularly opioid dependence.
