Dr. Ronald F. Pike, medical director is a recent past president of the Massachusetts Society of Addiction Medicine (MSAM); a past director of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)’s New England Region, and a member of ASAM’s national board. In addition to his duties at AdCare Hospital, Dr. Pike is on staff at University of Massachusetts Memorial Health Care Center and Worcester Medical Center. He is also an affiliate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Family and Community Medicine Department and an associate in its Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Pike graduated Assumption College, Worcester, MA, University of Rome, IT, Medical School, and completed his residency in Medicine at Carney Hospital in Boston., MA. |
| Dr. Patrice M. Muchowski, vice president of clinical services since 1988, is also an associate in the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry and a clinical instructor in Harvard University’s Department of Psychology. Dr. Muchowski holds a doctor of science degree and a master’s of science degree from Boston University, in addition to the following professional certifications: National Certified Addiction Counselor (NAADAC), Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC), Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), and Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders (APA). |
| David W. Hillis, Jr., Vice President of Outpatient Operations, oversees the development of AdCare outpatient services clinics, located throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Mr. Hillis, who has worked in the healthcare field since 1988, has also served as Director of Outpatient Services and as an Outpatient Therapist at AdCare Hospital. He received a B.S. degree in Psychology and a M.S. degree in Psychology (Mental Health Counseling) from Salem State College. Mr. Hillis is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC-II), as well as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADC-I). |
| James F. McKenna, M.Ed., LADC, Board Registered Interventionist, Vice President of Marketing and Development, has over thirty years of marketing management experience for behavioral health and substance abuse treatment providers. Mr. McKenna oversees the inpatient Admissions and Community Services departments. He is a member on the Board of Directors of Steppingstone, Inc., a provider of residential substance abuse programs in Fall River and New Bedford, MA; and a member on the Board of Directors of Caritas, Inc., a provider of residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment in Rhode Island. In addition, Mr. McKenna is a founding member and past treasurer of the Massachusetts Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (MAADAC); a past executive director of the Alcohol Council of Fall River, MA; and a founding member of DATA (Drug and Alcohol Treatment Associates) in Rhode Island. A licensed and certified social worker, a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, a certified interventionist, and a member of the American College of Addiction Treatment Administrators, he holds a bachelor’s degree in social science from Roger Williams University, RI, and earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts. He is an instructor in the Westfield State College Addiction Counselor Program at AdCare Hospital. |
