AdCare Educational Institute
AdCare's Educational Institute, funded largely by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, develops and conducts statewide trainings designed to enhance the knowledge and skill level of addiction practitioners.
AdCare Speakers Bureau
AdCare's Speakers Bureau, comprised of credentialed experts in the field of alcohol and drug abuse treatment, offers presentations and trainings on topics ranging from “The Psychopharmacology of Addiction” to “Spirituality and Substance Abuse.”
AdCare Nursing Education Program
Offers nursing students from area colleges a chance to gain substance abuse nursing as part of their psychiatric rotation. Educational institutions participating in this program have included Fitchburg State College, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Science, and Quinsigamond Community College.
AdCare/ UMass Psychiatric Residency Program
Offers UMass Medical School psychiatric residents a chance to work with AdCare treatment staff, and gain valuable knowledge regarding the treatment of addiction in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Master’s-level Internships
AdCare has arrangements with many academic institutions to provide internships/ practicums to individuals studying in master’s degree programs in counseling or related fields.
Continuing Medical Education Series at AdCare
Offered for Certified Medical Education (CME) credit presentation address trends and training needs in the field of addiction treatment. Space limited. For more information, call 508-799-9000 and ask for Clinical Services.
Westfield State Addiction Counselor Education at AdCare Hospital Provides academic and practical preparation for Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification. All courses are taught on the AdCare Hospital campus by credentialed professionals in the addictions field. For more information, visit their website.
